Obama, Mccain and the Economy

Obama takes time out to be with sick 86-year-old grandmother, lambastes Mccain on gop's economic proposals

Starting on Thursday, democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama will be in Hawaii to be with his 86-year-old grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who helped raise him. According to recent reports, she has broken her hip and is near death. However, according to an ABC report, before Obama takes off to deal with his personal business, he wasted no time in slamming McCain's economic proposals again.

Before heading off to Hawaii, Obama held a forum with key allies, including Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, a democrat, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, a democrat, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, a former democratic presidential candidate, Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, a democrat, Google chairman & CEO Eric Schmidt and former Fed chief Paul Volcker, one of Obama's informal advisors.

Here's what Obama had to say about Bush's (and by association, McCain's) economic policies: “While President Bush and Sen. McCain were ready to move heaven and earth to address the crisis on Wall Street, the president has failed to address the crisis on Main Street - and Sen. McCain has failed to fully acknowledge it. Instead of common sense solutions, month after month, they've offered little more than willful ignorance, wishful thinking and outdated ideology”. Which one of these is most powerful? Willful ignorance. Being ignorant and not knowing it means that someone is naïve, but “willfully” doing so = deception.

Strickland chipped in, saying that “Ohio's economy was suffering from the Bush administration policies”, adding that“I was in the same community where Joe the plumber lives. He said "you tell Sen. Obama that the ironworker is building a bridge for him to the White House". This is significant because Obama failed to win over white, working class voters during the primaries and caucuses, with many choosing former rival Hillary Clinton.

Obama also hit back at Sarah Palin who said that “..now is not the time for socialism”, conveniently latching on to McCain's claim that Obama's tax credit plan is “another government tax giveaway”: “What he's confusing is the fact that even if you don't pay income tax, you're still paying a whole lot of other taxes. You're paying payroll, which is a huge burden on many middle class families. You're paying sales taxes, you're paying property taxes”. Obama is undoubtedly getting some of these ideas from working class politicians, including his running mate, Joe Biden and perhaps even former rival Hillary Clinton!

Hillary: The Terminator From the Dark Side

Beyond the realm of dedication, allegiance, and perseverance there is a place where only the possessed will travel undaunted by the constraints of integrity and virtue. In this immoral chasm, the names of virtue and vice are misappropriated: Betrayal is marked as Devotion, Greed is disguised as Ambition, Obsession is mislabeled Perseverance, Egomania masquerades as Munificence, and Deceit impersonates Candor. Many leaders of prominence have taken this elevator down past the ground floor on what they thought was their way to the top. Yet, who has descended faster than Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Presidential candidate from New York, the crowned heir to her husband's throne, the frontrunner who lost her edge to a Washington neophyte from Illinois?

After falling behind in the popular vote and pledged delegates, the former first lady rallied her team of assassins and set out on a brutal course to destroy her adversary. From the scurrilous playbook of Carl Rove, the devious man that she purportedly loathes, she pulled out the fear card -- warning the nation that Barak Obama could not safely handle the responsibilities of protecting the nation from terrorism, despite the fact that for the last eight years, Republicans have drilled this message into a meaningless hole.

Nonetheless, only days later, Hillary invited her opponent, Barck Obama, to consider unifying the party and running as her Vice President. The disingenuous offer only revealed that she too didn't believe her underhanded criticism of Obama's abilities to lead the nation. How could she offer the Vice Presidency to a man who could not protect the nation during a crisis? The truth is obvious. Her characterization of Obama is false. Is this what a Democrat calls party loyalty? Her desperate need to win the nomination goes far beyond her concerns for justice, integrity, or loyalty to the goals of her party or the welfare of her nation.

The Terminator's win-at-all-costs strategy - which continues to keep the spotlight on Rev. Wright and the racial divide - is designed to bloody Obama; unfortunately it is also driving a wedge deep into the heart of the Democratic Party and may only destroy Obama's chances of beating John McCain in November.

Promoting herself as the candidate of experience, she has since distorted the truth about her less than courageous involvement in Bosnia and her insignificant role in bringing peace about in Northern Ireland. Can she rightly claim a “senior moment” like the Republican candidate, Senator John McCain? Confronted with her dishonesty, she conveniently admitted that it was an innocent mistake -- perhaps a lapse of memory. There is no innocence here. Touting accolades that do not belong in her resume is a betrayal of the public trust. Does honesty and integrity matter to Democrats and Republicans anymore? This question haunts Americans voters as never before. What will they not do to win?

Her latest attack came from an interview with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, a money-losing, fringe right-wing rag owned by Richard Mellon Scaife, the supporter of the Arkansas Project, the American Spectator, which was largely responsible for various witch hunts against Clinton during his administration. Scaife is the nut-job that spent millions on fabricating stories against the Clintons; the most infamous of which was about Hillary having whacked Vince Foster.

Democrats who had spent years defending the Clintons from these unfair attacks have a right to be angry and astonished that she would stoop so low as to use an interview with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review to circulate the Rev. Wright story against Obama. Despite her attempt at pretending to be innocent of initiating the dialogue about Rev. Wright, appearing at an editorial board meeting with Scaife and his bootlickers can only be seen as a deliberate attempt to spread more trash talk about Obama and to encourage the Republican hate vote to show up in Pennsylvania.

Tuesday, March 25th, James Carivill appeared on MSNBC and refused to apologize for describing Bill Richardson as a “Judas” for Richardson's endorsement of Barack Obama. The question remains; who is Jesus Christ -- Hillary or Bill?

Carville insisted that his connection to Hillary's campaign was entirely unofficial. Yet, any reasonable person knows that this was not a random and independent character assassination. Carville admitted that he wanted to “brand” Richardson for his act of betrayal. This was an attempt to intimidate the superdelegates who are considering switching their support from Hillary to Barack. Richardson's endorsement of Obama was more of an act of courage than it was an act of betrayal. He was simply supporting the nominee that he believes will lead the country in the right direction. Tactics of bullying, threatening, and unfairly trashing reputations has become commonplace for Hillary's ruthless and desperate quest for the presidential nomination. The America people have had a long bout with these kinds of politics and have a right to call for an end to it.

The time has come for Howard Dean, the leader of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), to call upon the party's leaders and its supporters to censor Hillary for perverting the process and for using fear of race, gender, and loyalty to manipulate voters. Within the limits of dedication, allegiance, and perseverance to the ideals expressed in our constitution, Americans need benevolent leadership more than ever -- leadership that will honor integrity and virtue more than the lust for power.

Democrats: Crazy (And Funny)

Do We Really Have Economic Troubles?

You couldn't tell this by the way our Presidential race is going. With the Republican race settled this Democrats are still going strong and spending money hand over fist. I thought there was a big recession going on. Barack Hussein Obama has raised almost $200 million most of it coming from the small donors. Where are they getting this money from? I thought we had gas prices that were too high, soaring food prices, mortgage foreclosures and all other sorts of money woes. In total, the candidates have raised $790 million. They are getting the money from somewhere. With the Democratic race still up for grabs you can bet much more money will be spend by Obama and Hillary Clinton!!

Bill Richardson: Crazy and Funny

Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico has endorsed Barack Hussein Obama for president. Richardson worked in the Clinton Administration and was a main cog for the Clinton's. He's also a superdelegate who's thrown his weight behind Obama even though his state voted for Hillary. I guess so much for the "will of the voters" thing to him. Actually I figure Richardson wants to be on the ticket as the VP. Hillary probably told him it's not going to be you. So he threw his weight behind Obama who has probably told him he was in the running.

New York Might Be Looking For Another Governor

By all rights, new Governor David Paterson should have to resign also. He improperly billed his campaign for at least on extra marital tryst with his girlfriend. It was billed as "constituent" services. Now, that's servicing the constituency all right!! Gov. Paterson also used campaign funds for other illegal stuff and then lied on disclosure forms. What a man? He might be worse than Spitzer!!
