Bush's Chew Toy

Australian troops are still in the Middle East under the rule of “Lord Bush” and fighting somebody else's war. I don't' know how many of you have wondered why our troops are in Iraq in the first pace, but I certainly have! You probably all know we are “allied” with the U.S.A and as part of our allegiance the U.S expect us to go to war with them. The main reason U.S President George. W. Bush stated for the Iraq invasion was suspected weapons of mass destruction being secured there. America was “Liberating Iraq of a tyrannic dictatorship by Mr Suddham Hussein and to find and confiscate suspected W.M.D being held there” as stated by Mr Bush before the commencement of the war. This is all very well and reasonable but if after the dictator Hussein is dead and there is no confirmed evidence of W.M.D in Iraq, why does the invasion continue?

This has puzzled many Australians, remembering that our troops are there under allegiance with America, as to why infantry remain there. Australian military official Sergeant Russel. N. Bustle had this to say: “There have been no confirmed findings of any W.M.D within Iraq and I myself am flabbergasted as to the reasoning of our troops staying in Iraq.” I'm sure he's not the only confused Australian currently boggled by the ridiculous situation. Mr Bush claims military personnel are remaining in Iraq to keep peace and govern a war-torn country. I have heard many explanations for the Iraq war, one of the more humorous concerning more oil for the Americans' French Fries. I believe that America is only staying in Iraq to exert more authority over its rivals. The ever-looming American world would cast an even greater shadow having quashed all terrorism in the Middle East. Aside from the conspicuous military tactics of the U.S.A, I believe it is time for Prime Minister John Howard t step up and withdraw some power back to Australia. Too long have we been bullied and belittled by America, being treated like a toy to be used and reused. And, judging by the results in recent election polls, so does a lot of Australia. We need to stop taking orders to fight for someone else's greed and make a stand. America is our ally, not our employer!

In conclusion, I say its time we knew exactly why our countrymen are being stationed on the frontline of America's war. We deserve the right to make our own choice as to whom and what we fight for. I say its time that our prime minister found some courage and stood up for his country. I say its time that we lifted America's blindfold and started thinking about what we're getting into before we act.
