I predicted the downfall of President Musharraf two months ago Today Mr. Musharraf has resigned and the US will soon announce the loss of a "great friend" who brought democracy to Pakistan. It is likely to send chills down the spine of the US president, Mr. Bush. However, Ex-Prime Minister Mr. Shariff, Ex-Chief Justice Caudhry, and the Late Mrs. Benazir (all from Pakistan) must be celebrating.

President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan is resigning. He is now negotiating for his right to remain in Pakistan as an ordinary citizen and to be granted immunity. This is the very same right he denied other citizens. Citizens like the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. He even ousted the elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Shariff. He seized power in a military coup and has managed to remain in power with US support. It is time he faced justice. No tears will will be lost.

Barack Obama Will be the President of the United States

The US election started with New York Senator Hillary Clinton as the clear favourite. Many things have changed and the Democrats have a presumptive nominee in Senator Barack Obama. He fended off strong challenges. The strongest challenge remains but his advantages outweigh his disadvantages and will therefore become the next president of the United States. Senator McCain's age is a major disadvantage. This combined with the facts that he has no new ideas, draws smaller crowds, has less funds and less support make him unelectable.

The United States is the World's most successful democracy. Yet many of it's leaders have misled the world many times. President Bush and Premier Blair committed the biggest lie of modern history and got away with it because there was no credible opponent.
