The NAACP announced on Monday a lawsuit against Tim Kaine, the governor of the state of Virginia. The lawsuit states that the state of Virginia has not prepared properly for the upcoming presidential election. Can the NAACP be going a bit too far this time?

When we focus on the issues, we can avoid the name-calling tactics that impede reasonable discussion and decision-making. Political diatribes destroy conversation, conversation that is important at every level in a democracy. Just like children, we need to look at what name-calling does and avoid it everywhere.

In my dream, I was standing at the White House with the newly elected President and First Lady. They were the Obamas. They appeared very friendly, but in my dream I knew I had not voted for them. The First Lady starting speaking in a foreign language, and I had the inner knowing that they were foreigners. They were not one of us.
