Senator McCain is a good person and he wants to be President of the United States. One of his difficulties is that he is not trying hard enough to be independent of President Bush and the Republicans who have driven the American and Global economies into the ground. The $700billion bail out is just the beginning. The unemployment rate has been creeping up for the last nine months and President Bush's rating is at an all time low.

The 43rd. President of the United States, President George Walker Bush, came to power after losing the popular vote but obtaining a court decision from a judge appointed by his father. This president has a history of successful manipulation. He has driven the US economy into the ground, cost thousands of lives, and made America the most disliked country in the world. He has presided over the biggest lie and the biggest economic disaster. Somehow, he does not feel responsible for either.

President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan is resigning. He is now negotiating for his right to remain in Pakistan as an ordinary citizen and to be granted immunity. This is the very same right he denied other citizens. Citizens like the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. He even ousted the elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Shariff. He seized power in a military coup and has managed to remain in power with US support. It is time he faced justice. No tears will will be lost.

The US election started with New York Senator Hillary Clinton as the clear favourite. Many things have changed and the Democrats have a presumptive nominee in Senator Barack Obama. He fended off strong challenges. The strongest challenge remains but his advantages outweigh his disadvantages and will therefore become the next president of the United States. Senator McCain's age is a major disadvantage. This combined with the facts that he has no new ideas, draws smaller crowds, has less funds and less support make him unelectable.

Israel is headed toward turbulent times. Pime Minister Ehud Olmert has announced his intention to step down after the September 17, 2008 Kadima Leadership conference. Hopefully, this will allow his party (Kadima) to choose a new leader and prepare for the elections due in 2010. At this critical time, it is unclear as to who will succeed him but all the indications are that Ms. Tzipi Livni will be the next Prime Minister of Israel. However, she will have to deal with obstacles put up by Benjamin Netanyahu, Ehud Barak, Shaul Mofaz, and the ultra-Orthodox Shas party.
