| | A California Supreme Court has handed down an important decision for the Internet: a person cannot be sued for republishing information considered to be libel. |

|
| | Today's election day, and the end of the worst political cycle I can ever recall. To whom is given much, much is expected, and if the DNC takes the House and Senate, there is not only blame to go around, but a responsibility to pick up the pieces. |

| | Since the verdict was handed down on Saddam Hussein, I was a bit puzzled as how I should feel. If you mix the news and the Bible, what is a Christian response to such a big event? |

| | As election results streamed into the networks and crowned winners and losers, there was an trend on the part of Republicans to express "sour grapes" reactions. This played out heavily in Dallas County, a traditional Republican stronghold that lost every single race to Democrat challengers. At the end of the night, there was plenty of sour whine for everybody. |

| | The day after the midterm blood bath, the right wing media mouths just don't get it. They are at a loss to explain what went wrong. When your job is to divide, eventually the listeners catch onto the game. |

| | The elections are over, and America is hoping for change. It is at this point our guard is lowest, and strange things happen behind unknown doors between stranger bedfellows. It would be wise to watch the neo-conservatives, the Israeli lobby and politicians, and the religious right wing while they are regrouping. A strategic loss like this means corrupt groups have a dangerous amount of free time on their hands. |

| | Why did the DOJ go after Google's search results? Google is a law-abiding company, but the DOJ is looking to see if they can spot terrorist use. This wouldn't be much of a story, except Donald Rumsfeld (DOD), Michael Chertoff (DHS), Robert Mueller (FBI) and the European Union have said this week terrorists are using the Internet and spreading around propaganda. What's really behind this? |

| | The Washington Post reported the United States has warned Syria, Hezbollah and Iran not to topple the "U.S. backed democratically elected Lebanese government". Once again, poor U.S. foreign policy has created inroads for those trying to pull down democracies in yet another country, as Hezbollah seeks to increase its power in the reconstructed "Unity Government" of Lebanon. If the U.S. backs Lebanon now, why did the back Israel during the campaign? No wonder US foreign policy is hated everywhere…except Washington. |

| | Watching James Baker on his book tour, I couldn't help but notice how many times he talked about Hizb'allah as the "Party of God". In the same interview, he glowed over the GOP. I started thinking about how the GOP is convinced it is the "Party of God". What's the difference between the two groups, and what might be some good clues to determine if someone is or isn't in the "Party of God"? |

| | On Friday, a "Christian" news source released a bomb: "Terrorists are for Democrats!" and they sited an interview with someone claiming to be from the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade. I didn't believe it, so I set off searching all the English language Arabic news sources, while an Arabic speaking friend reviewed all the insurgency sites. No one had this story. Twenty-four hours later, no one is still carrying the story. I questioned it by writing to the editor, asking for proof. Here's what happened when I went looking for the truth. |
